New design is a race boat design
based on when boats were crafted
out of wood. Gar Wood was the
racer of such beasts. 124.860 mph
in 1932 on the St.Clair River was
the fastest and is still fast in any V
hull boat. Nothing says brute force
like a four engine power boat. So
this design takes the combination of
wood and a mechanical engineering
put to speed.
This was a design I did for a company
selling sport bike clothes and motorcycle
accessories. They had an old logo with a
more basic design and wanted  a better one.
So I found a picture of a custom  Suzuki
Hayabusa for sale on Ebay Motors then
took off the Godfather graphics and painted
it a chrome red. Then I took a picture of a
Dainese race leathers display and gave it the
graphic novel  look. I bought a book about
anime and drew a basic anime head and
added a edgy hair style for a boy racer look.
I layered it all together and the finished
product was done. Or so i thought......
Well the boy racer was
thought too be to nice
looking. I was asked to
make him meaner looking ....
So I turned his smile
upside down. I made
his jaw stronger and
made his eyes
angrier and put a
scowl on his face
and lowered his
eyebrows...basically
gave him a look like
he just ate  a bad
.79 cent gas station
burrito That's not
good when you're
wearing a full leather
suit.
Well they decided they
wanted the head of their
old logo on the new
design. I unfortunately
obliged. After that I
thought that I should
have said no. That was
the begining of the
thought that I might be
done drawing for other
people.  So then I start
brain storming on my
designs and what I
wanted to do with them,
and created Moon Lake
 Vintage 1950.
" That was
one bad
burrito. I
think it's
repeating on
me."
Got this lighter from my Dad. I have a regular Zippo, but he let me use this lighters for the garage but
now it's has become one of my favorite things. First, I don't know the age of the lighter, but its history is
written on it from the stainless steel being worn off, scratches, and dings. This isn't a Zippo so I thought
it would be perfect for lighting torches, campfires or just keep in the truck. So I bought some flints and
lighter fluid and it was making fire in five minutes. The brand is Champ Lighters and they are made in
Austria with a cool little feature that a Zippo doesn't have, a movable flip up windscreen. I've read that it
flips for lighting pipes. Anyway a lighter that I wasn't suppose to care about, I found it very intriguing
and even though I still use it, I make sure it is put back in its place in my tool box next to my all metal
vintage Shaffer pencil style air pressure gauge.
